Scarlett Entertainment Produce Show for the Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tolerance Award Ceremony
Scarlett Entertainment is proud to have produced a performance for the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tolerance Award on Wednesday, February 19th at a ceremony at Dubai Opera. The award is a distinction aiming to develop young Arab leaders in the field of tolerance and support the intellectual, cultural and media promotions of values of tolerance and openness.
On the occasion of the ceremony organised to present the award to winners, Scarlett Entertainment in conjunction with Pico LLC produced a show that brought together singers of different nationalities who sang ‘Heal the World’ by Michael Jackson in their respective languages.
The ceremony began with a video that aimed to convey a message about tolerance. On it, various global problems were introduced to audiences: poverty, civil disorder, pollution, etc. The video ended with the moral that tolerance is the main solution to all these challenges.
Once the clip came to an end, eight singers from around the world (Mexico, Italy, India, England, Nigeria, the Philippines, the UAE and Russia) took the stage at Dubai Opera and performed the iconic tune by the King of Pop, the song that Michael himself claimed he was most proud to have created and the one that gives name to charitable organisation he founded back in 1992.
Dressed in traditional costumes from their countries of origin, the performance featured both male and female vocalists who sang in multiple languages at the ceremony. Watch the video below to see this iconic performance!
Scarlett Entertainment Global Creative Producer Kim Venable was one of the professionals responsible for the production of this performance and the person Pico LLC got in touch with when they were asked to come up with a unique and multicultural show for the occasion.
When asked about the origin of this performance and the outcome of the evening, Kim was happy to share her insights and go into detail about the performance and the idea behind it.
Dubai is a melting pot of people from all across the world. We wanted to acknowledge the different nationalities which make this country great in celebration of the "Year of Tolerance." Although we are from different backgrounds, we all are still very similar- learning and growing from one another each day. It was beautiful to work with such a diverse group of performers and share one message together on stage. With acceptance and by working together- we can make the world a better place.
