Chinese Trio Captivates Employees at Viacom’s Inclusion Week
This September Viacom surprised employees with daily entertainment. As part of their inclusion week at their New York offices, Chinese musicians performed as employees came to work.
Viacom was looking from acts of different ethnicity. They got in touch with our Account Manager Jayne Doniger and asked about Chinese musicians specifically. The brief was clear: they were looking for versatile performers who could play authentic Chinese music along with recognisable tunes. Jayne instantly knew who they could trust on this occasion.
A multi-talented performer and Erhu player, this Chinese violinist was joined by a Guzheng player (Chinese zither) and a keyboard player. The group was set up in the lobby while people were arriving for work.
Viacom’s staff and senior executives were seen filming videos and listening to the calming Chinese music along with covers of the Beatles, Queen and a rendition of ‘New York, New York’, among other tunes.
The trio’s repertoire for the day includes traditional Chinese songs and popular hits, as well as American songs by Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga or Bruno Mars.
Performing breathtaking music that takes the unique look and sound of the Erhu and Chinese culture and merging it with classical and contemporary music, our Chinese musicians create unique musical experiences.
