Wedding Destination Spotlight: Ibiza
The popularity of Ibiza as a wedding destination has been growing steadily over the last few years, and it is now considered one of the most desirable places to get married in the Mediterranean. An island steeped in history, with a unique blend of cultures, traditions and architecture, it also offers beautiful scenery through its unique landscape of century-old olive, orange and lemon groves, pine forests, idyllic beaches, mountain vistas and turquoise blue waters. Of course, Ibiza is also synonymous with having a good time and partying long into the night, and this too makes it a popular destination. With its chilled out vibe, cosmopolitan beach bars, first-rate clubs and world famous nightlife, it offers couples the best of both worlds, whether they are looking for tradition and charm or glitz and glamour.
The wedding season in Ibiza lasts from May through to October, with May, June and September being the most popular months, as the weather is not as hot at these times as during the high season. With plenty of stunning locations and amazing venues available, whether you are after a cliff top blessing, a sunset ceremony, a traditional church wedding or a modern marriage in the grounds of a luxury villa, Ibiza is the ideal destination for your wedding.

If you are planning to get married in Ibiza, it is worth remembering that it is only possible to be legally wed on the island if either one of you is a resident of Ibiza or a Catholic. If you are, you can be legally married in a church or in a civil ceremony at your local town hall. If neither you nor your partner falls into either of these two categories, you must first legally marry in your home country before you can celebrate your wedding ceremony on the island. Following this, you have the option of celebrating your marriage with a religious ceremony in Ibiza through the Anglican Church, or with a secular blessing, which gives you the freedom to choose your location. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Spain since 2005, making Ibiza a dream wedding destination for all couples.
